A "new" tablet double dated that refuted the idea of a co-regency between Darius I and Xerxes
by chasson ini have found by inadvertance a tablet that confirm that there never had a co-regency between darius i and xerxes in a french's website "achemenet.net".. it is important, because i have never seen before a double-dated tablet between this two kings, and rolf furuli, as gerard gertoux a french jw, has tried (in accordance with the book "insight" of the watchtower) to prove a co-regency between the two king in the final goal to have the 20th years of the king artaxerxes in -455. this date is important for the jw's calculation of the prophecy of daniel 9, concerning the 70 weeks.. if there is no co-regency so the reign of artaxerxes has really start in -465 (and note -475 like the jw's theory) and the interpretation of the 70 weeks of daniel by jw is false.. here is the translation in english of this tablet, that carl olof jonnson has provided to me, after i have contacted him concerning this tablet.

Over half the world population have never heard of Jehovah's Witnesses
by alanv injust looked through some of the largest populations in the world and ten of them add up to 3,500,000,000. how many witnesses serve these 10 countries.
no more than 60,000. the largest are china and india which together have around 2.5 billion people.
so is the jw good news being spread earthwide.

Third world, India, China? The last I heard in the city I live in there are 3 congs. I have lived there almost 2 yrs, and have never seen or heard of any of them in the area. I've asked many of the neighbors who have lived here for 15 - 20 years, no one EVER remembers JW's coming around. Reaching the most remote parts of the earth? They haven't even reached parts of Maryland yet.

What are witnesses taught to say if a householder was to preach to them in the ministry?

in my experience, we were taught to respond with something like: "we didn't come to your door looking for answers or for the truth!".
given the magnitude of flaws one finds when researching the doctrines and the wts own admission of not preaching the original good news, how totally presumptuous and disrespectful it is to invade the privacy of anothers home to try and tell them how wrong their beliefs are and then to arrogantly respond in this way when challenged.

The WTS will never have ''new light'' on shunning policy.
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwatchtower society will never be blessed with "new light" on their policy of extremist shunning of former members, thereby liberating thousands-both within and out of the organization from the heart-sickening anguish imposed by this cruel, unjust, and unscriptural dogma..

WTBS taking care of older ones?
by roadrunner027 indoes anyone know if the society/organization is financially taking care of the older ones?.
my husband and i left the org over 10 years ago, we are of the generation where our parents came to the jw's in the 70's, gave up everything they owned, had no college education, and stuck to the usual janitorial/construction jobs so they wouldn't miss any meetings.
this of coarse means they have no retirement money and see nothing wrong with that as the end of the system is soon upon us.

semiautomatic air pistols
by megaflower ini am looking into getting myself a pellet pistol.
my reason for a pellet is it will not kill anyone but sting them pretty good.
we have been getting some undesirable's and they have been breaking in to my neighbors places.

I agree completely, but Megaflower seems to have a problem with that. I was Just giving her other options than a pellet gun. I should have mentioned also that training is necessary. In the state that I live, you have to watch a video and pass a test before you can purchase a firearm. This video spells out the laws for self defense. Even though I have hunted and used firearms since very young, it was informative and helpful to know the laws in your state for self defense. I would even say necessary.
